What is the Automotive Stimulus Program?
Some of the leading U.S. Automotive Retailers are participating in a dealer stimulus program to help consumers left behind by the governments program. The dealer Stimulus Plan provides up to $4500 of additional trade-in value towards the purchase or lease of a new or used vehicle with improved fuel economy.
Does My Vehicle Qualify?
- Vehicle must be older than 2007
- Vehicle must be in working condition
- Vehicle has been owned and registered to the trade-in customer for at least 6 months
- No minimum mpg requirements
- Vehicles that are not eligible are: salvaged vehicles and vehicles with flood or frame damage
What type of car can I get?
- Replacement vehicle must have a minimum of 2mpg improvement
- Most New and Used Vehicles Qualify
- All makes and models
- No minimum mpg requirements
- No price restrictions
- Consumers cannot combine the governments program with this dealer stimulus plan
How is the additional trade-in value calculated?
Eligible consumers can receive up to $4500 of additional trade-in value calculated as a percentage of Kelley Blue Book “Fair” Trade-in Value. The amount of the Additional Trade-in Value is based on the mpg improvements described below.

Is this program available at all licensed dealerships?

How do I know if a dealer is participating in the program?
Visit www.AutoStimulusPlan.com and complete the forms and it will be sent to a participating dealer in your area. If there is no participating dealer in your area we will have a dealer contact you to give you pricing.
Is this a government stimulus program?

Am I limited to what new vehicle I can purchase?
The additional trade-in value is good towards the purchase or lease of all make and model, new or used vehicles, as long as it has a 2mpg improvement or better when compared to your trade-in vehicle. There are no price limits for the vehicle you decide to purchase.
I just traded in my old car for a new vehicle last month. Will I get some money back?
No. The program does not apply retroactively.
Can I lease or buy a used car to get more affordable payments?
Yes. Under the program, you may purchase or lease a new or used vehicle for any term.
Do I have to purchase a new vehicle?
No, you can lease a new vehicle with any term and you can purchase a pre-owned vehicle
Do I have to buy a vehicle or can I lease one?
No, you do not have to purchase. A lease is also eligible.
What is the purpose of the program?
The Automotive Stimulus Plan is a private sector program that provides additional trade-in value to consumers to make it easier for them to get into a newer, more fuel efficient vehicle. The program is designed to help the economy and the environment while reducing automotive inventory levels.
When does the program end?
The stimulus program was scheduled to end when the governments program ended but it has been extended through Nov 1st.
